AiMF - AiMF06
On 24th June 2006, Aanchal Gupta first introduced the Arts in Motion Festival – AiMF 2006. A unique & original concept, the festival focused on different forms of dance. It spread over two days with competitions & performances by the students, followed by two DJ Nites at the studio. With free Salsa Shines classes & two classes of Rock n Roll & Merengue, the studio was chock-a-block with avid students.
The highlight of the evening was a Belly Dance Performance by students of Arts in Motion. A series of complicated moves in the brilliantly choreographed sequence of Hips Don't Lie would put even Shakira to shame. The studio reverberated to the sounds of ‘Once More’ as guests could not get enough of it.
In another spectacular performance on 25th June, Ms Salome Roy Kapoor, the ace dancer & a master in Ballroom dancing, demonstrated traditional Samba & Chacha to a spell bound audience. The evening also experienced a few heart moving moments when Aanchal Gupta paid a glowing tribute to her mentor, Ms. Roy, on the occasion of Guru Purnima.
